In English:

Salam! My name is Martine and I am from Belgium.  I graduated at a polytechnic institute for higher education in Management, Tourism and Recreation.  I would like to study Political Science or Law in the future.  For the moment I work at the national airport in Brussels, Belgium. 

I have translated Dr. Farooq’s text for everybody who speaks Dutch and I hope translations in other languages from all over the world will follow.  It’s so important to spread knowledge because that’s how we can avoid hostility towards things people know little about, like Islam.

Personally Islam has a great impact on me. Although I’m not officially Muslim (yet) I feel there is a strong band between Muslims all over the world.  This brotherhood is something I could never feel anywhere else.  Islam abolishes racism and discrimination.  This religion stimulates peace, forgiveness, love and equality contrary to what many people think.

I hope with all my heart that one day hate, racism and discrimination between people, cultures and religions will stop insh’Allah.

In Dutch:

Salam! Ik ben Martine en ik kom uit België.  Ik ben afgestudeerd als gegradueerde Beheer Toerisme en Recreatie.  In de toekomst zou ik graag Politieke Wetenschappen of Rechten gaan studeren. Op dit moment werk ik in de nationale luchthaven in Brussel, België. 

Ik heb Dr. Farooqs tekst vertaald voor iedereen die Nederlands spreekt en ik hoop dat er nog vertalingen in andere talen van over heel de wereld volgen.  Het is zo belangrijk om kennis te verspreiden omdat zo vijandigheid tegenover dingen waar mensen weinig over weten, zoals Islam, vermeden kan worden.

Persoonlijk, heeft Islam een heel grote impact op mij.  Hoewel ik (nog) niet officieel moslim ben, voel ik dat er heel sterke band tussen alle moslims over heel de wereld is.  Deze band is iets dat ik nergens anders zou kunnen voelen.  Islam keurt racisme en discriminatie af.  Deze religie stimuleert vrede, vergiffenis, liefde en gelijkwaardigheid, in tegenstelling tot wat velen denken.

Ik hoop met heel mijn hart dat haat, racisme en discriminatie tussen mensen, culturen en religies ooit zal stoppen, insh’Allah.
