Key Qur'anic Verses
8. Focus on avoiding big sins"If you (but) eschew the most heinous of the things which you are forbidden to do, We shall expel out of you all the evil in you, and admit you to a Gate of great honor." [4/an-Nisa'a/31]
Note: This verse is self-explanatory. Those who emphasize the minute details and ask others to be detail-oriented actually work against this clear verse. It is human nature that it cannot focus on too many things. As we are created with imperfections and we seek forgiveness from Allah for our shortcomings, our focus should be just the way Allah has commanded. This verse is not a license to be oblivious to smaller things. Rather, we should make a conscientious effort at every level of our life. However, when it comes to priority, FOCUS ON AVOIDING BIG SINS. What are the big sins? More here. Also read "Reality: The Islamic Touch!"
