Key Qur'anic Verses

7. Respect for the "Womb" relationships

"O mankind! reverence your Rabb, Who created you from a single Person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; reverence God, through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for God ever watches over you." [4/an-Nisaa/1]

Note: All the human relationship has a core and it is through the bond of procreation or womb, which according to the Islam is suspended from the throne of God. Thus, blood relationship has special sanctity in Islam, which is also mirrored through the natural and instinctive human feeling toward bond and family relationship. To weaken or sever this relationship is to undermine the very chord that ties us together, gives us a sense of belonging and connects us to the ultimate reality beyond our human existence and experience.
