Key Qur'anic Verses
20. Forgiving and being forgiven"Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in God's cause; Let them forgive and overlook; Do you not wish that God should forgive you? for God is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." [24/al-Nur/22]
Note: As human beings we have imperfections. We do falter, make mistakes, commit sins, sometimes despite our best intention or effort. God has a very simple way of dealing with it. Repent and seek His forgiveness, and you are forgiven, as long as no right of others has been violated. If others' rights have been violated, then we have to seek their forgiveness too. Above all, there is an important secret to God's forgiveness is be forgiving to others and be forgiven. Power of forgiving is an enormously precious power. Practice it toward others and see the results yourself. Added bonus of forgiving others: we will find God more forgiving to us.
