Key Qur'anic Verses
11. Living and going after your share of this world"But seek, with the (wealth) which God has bestowed on you, the Home of the Hereafter, nor forget your portion in this world; but do good as God has been good to you, and seek not mischief in the land; for God loves not those who do mischief." [28/al-Qasas/77]
Note: Life is to be lived. That is the human quest and Islamic spirit. Islam does not believe in monasticism or giving up this world. Rather the path toward heaven or eternal life is through fully living this life. Many Muslims have given up this world, in preference for the other world, as if these are substitutes. Living an Akhirah-bound life means to live this life fully with its full dynamism and vibrancy. Also read one of my poems, Give Me Some Sparkle.
